Winter sucks. There. I said it. I grew up in Michigan, with harsh, icy, snowy winters. I’ve lived out west and in the south and still, no matter where I live, winter is the worst.

BUT! 🍑

That doesn’t mean we shouldn’t do our best to bring fun, whimsy, coziness, and memory-making goodness to this time of year. Especially once the magic of Christmas is over. Let’s romanticize winter!

What does it mean to romanticize your life?

Romanticizing your life is about noticing and creating beauty in everyday life—especially the little things. We’re talking mindfulness, gratitude, playfulness, and making the mundane special. 🙌

My two favorite ways to romanticize my life are to:

  1. Focus on sensory details. When you pay attention to the softness of a blanket, the flickering light of a candle, or the taste of your morning coffee, they automatically become special moments, even though they are completely ordinary and easily overlooked.
  2. Savor each season. Each part of the year has unique flavors, scents, activities, and overall vibes. When you intentionally lean into what each season offers, you make average days beautiful.

BTW, to lean into the playfulness element of romanticizing your life this winter, I’ve created a bingo card for you! Print it and post it in your house. Try to get bingo before the end of the season. Tag me on Instagram so I can watch your progress!

Ready for the list? Since I’m an extreme introvert who rarely leaves the house, most of these activities to romanticize winter can be done solo and at home.

Also, this is not a Christmas-y list. I find it easy to romanticize Christmas. It always feels like a magical time of year. It’s the rest of winter that requires the romanticizing.
